God's Love is Rescuing

Setting captives free is one of the reason Jesus came to do what He did. Each and every one of us from Adam to three days from now has been held hostage mentally, physically, spiritually and/or financially. Jesus came to change that.

Several years back when God started shifting my path and calling me into a deeper walk with Him, I asked Him where do I go from here, what next? Within a six month time frame I found myself moving to Houston. I had chosen to go when He said go, and like Abraham I had no clue. He just pointed me in a direction and off I went.

There was a lot of details in all that, but I don't want to get too far off track. Therefore, I will leave that for another day. For now I want to focus on how much God desires to rescue us.

I'm still in awe of how He named my ministry, Rescued Love, Inc. (aka Bridges of Rescue, Inc.). How He got me set up, paperwork filed with the State of Texas, and established with the IRS in less than six months. I'm talking fully approved status, which normally takes five years, and filing costs for both the State and IRS under $500. I don't normally tell that to many, especially those who have fought the battle of getting their paperwork and filing fees paid. What they had to endure, and what they pay (thousands) to get approved - God made happen for me in a blink of an eye. I'm not saying that because I'm any more special then anyone else. I'm simply telling you because to this day I'm still trying to figure out how all that happened. I am amazed by Him, the things He does baffles me almost daily.

I had named the corporation [ministry] another name, and the State approved my paperwork. I thought I was all set. I laid the papers on the corner of my desk and went about the rest of my day. But then every time I walked by or glanced at them I got a queasy feeling. So I did what I normally do in that situation -- I asked God -- "What is up with that, Lord?" Within minutes He responded, "Why don't you call it Rescued Love?" Like the baby in Elizabeth's womb, my spirit leapt. I grabbed the phone, called the Secretary of State and finally we were on the right track.

I was married at the time, and that's part of the details for later. I thought [hoped and prayed] we would both serve God, do ministry and grow old together. But that didn't happen, he had other thoughts that outweighed mine. So God moved me here and started me on an incredible journey that has been unexplainable. People ask me questions about how this or how that all the time, and I am speechless. I've tried to come up with a thought or two, but then my brain shuts down and my tongue swells up in my mouth. Just no explaination - but God.

One question most asked, when they find out that my income is about one-third of my living expenses [rent, utilities, and food], is how do you pay your bills?

All I can say is that His calculator is a whole lot better than mine; He has a Heavenly Instrument and all I have is a Texas Instrument.

Right before He brought me here I asked Him what He wanted me to do with the 501(c)3 He had helped me establish. Should I pass it on to another who would carry the torch of His plans, or should I dissolve it? But He told me to keep it, that He wanted others to know that His love could rescued them just as He had rescued me. So I'm here.

And He continues to rescue me every day. He was there in my beginning, He is here with me now, and He will be there at the end of my road when that time comes.

God is a good Father who desires for us to know that He not only loves us - but He wants to rescue us from the pain of this life. It was never His plan.

Jesus is like our knight in shining armor. He has fought the dragon and won.

And the Holy Spirit is a great comforter and guide; He has never misled me.

So if you need rescuing - God is ready to save - He loves you.

I'm praying for you. I know you just thought - but you don't even know me. Truth is, I may never know you, what's important is for Him to know you, and that you get to know Him.

“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." John 17:3

A Special Note

Note: Someone asked what a 501(c)3 was, so in answer to her question, and for others who may have the same, here is the IRS definition. "Organizations described in section 501(c)(3) are commonly referred to as charitable organizations. Organizations described in section 501(c)(3), other than testing for public safety organizations, are eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions in accordance with Code section 170." IRS.gov
